Pronouns A2
Relative pronouns join two clauses: que (that/which/who) is the common one, quien for people after a preposition, el que / el cual for clarity, and donde for places.

El libro que leo es interesante. (The book that I am reading is interesting.) La chica que vive aquí es mi amiga. (The girl who lives here is my friend.) que never changes form.
El libro que leo es interesante। (जो किताब मैं पढ़ रहा हूँ वह दिलचस्प है।) La chica que vive aquí es mi amiga। (जो लड़की यहाँ रहती है वह मेरी मित्र है।) que कभी रूप नहीं बदलता।
After a preposition, use quien for people: La persona con quien hablé. Use el que / la que / el cual when you need to be clear about which noun: El que estudia aprueba. donde replaces "in/at which": La casa donde vivo.
अव्यय के बाद लोगों के लिए quien: La persona con quien hablé। जब यह स्पष्ट करना हो कि कौन सी संज्ञा, तो el que / la que / el cual: El que estudia aprueba। donde "जिसमें/जहाँ" की जगह: La casa donde vivo।
El hombre que habla es mi jefe. (The man who is speaking is my boss.) La ciudad donde nací es pequeña. (The city where I was born is small.) El libro del que hablo es famoso. (The book I am talking about is famous.)
El hombre que habla es mi jefe। (जो आदमी बोल रहा है वह मेरा बॉस है।) La ciudad donde nací es pequeña। (जहाँ मैं पैदा हुआ वह शहर छोटा है।) El libro del que hablo es famoso। (जिस किताब की मैं बात कर रहा हूँ वह प्रसिद्ध है।)
English can drop "that": the book I read. Spanish cannot: el libro que leo, never *el libro leo. The relative pronoun is obligatory.
अंग्रेज़ी "that" छोड़ सकती है: the book I read। स्पैनिश नहीं छोड़ सकती: el libro que leo, *el libro leo कभी नहीं। संबंधवाचक सर्वनाम अनिवार्य है।
When in doubt, use que. It is correct in the vast majority of sentences and never wrong where the others would also work.
शक हो तो que लगाएँ। यह ज़्यादातर वाक्यों में सही है और जहाँ बाकी भी चलें वहाँ कभी गलत नहीं।
