mío, tuyo, suyo and nuestro come after the noun or replace it, and they carry a written accent when they stand alone: un amigo mío, Es mío.

The stressed forms

tónico forms: mío/mía/míos/mías, tuyo/tuya, suyo/suya, nuestro/nuestra. They agree with the thing possessed and come after the noun or alone.

बलाघाती रूप: mío/mía/míos/mías, tuyo/tuya, suyo/suya, nuestro/nuestra। वे अधिकार की वस्तु से मेल खाते हैं और संज्ञा के बाद या अकेले आते हैं।

After the noun or with ser

noun + mío/tuyo/suyo. Alone with the article or the verb ser: el mío, Es mío.

संज्ञा + mío/tuyo/suyo। लेख या ser के साथ अकेले: el mío, Es mío।

Stressed possessives in context

Este coche es mío. Una amiga mía vive en Sevilla. ¿Es tuya esta mochila? Los nuestros llegaron tarde.

Este coche es mío। Una amiga mía vive en Sevilla। ¿Es tuya esta mochila? Los nuestros llegaron tarde।

Stressed form before the noun

A learner writes *un mío amigo. The stressed form never comes before the noun: un amigo mío, or mi amigo. Before the noun only the short form is correct.

शिक्षार्थी *un mío amigo लिखता है। बलाघाती रूप संज्ञा से पहले कभी नहीं: un amigo mío, या mi amigo। संज्ञा से पहले केवल छोटा रूप सही है।

What the exam tests

A2 asks you to replace a noun with a pronoun: ¿Es tu coche? Sí, es mío. Watch the accent and the gender.

A2 संज्ञा को सर्वनाम से बदलने को कहता है: ¿Es tu coche? Sí, es mío। चिह्न और लिंग पर ध्यान दें।

💡 La forma tónica va después del sustantivo y concuerda con amiga: una amiga mía.
