Sentence Structure A1
To make a sentence negative, put no directly before the verb. Unlike English you can use a double negative, and words like nada, nadie and nunca follow the verb and keep the no in front.
Sentence Structure — Word order, negation, questions and linking words.
Habla español. → No habla español. (He speaks Spanish. → He does not speak Spanish.) The no sits immediately before the verb and nothing else moves. There is no "do" helper as in English.
Habla español। → No habla español। (वह स्पैनिश बोलता है। → वह स्पैनिश नहीं बोलता।) no क्रिया से ठीक पहले आता है और कुछ और नहीं हिलता। अंग्रेज़ी जैसा "do" सहायक नहीं होता।
No veo nada. (I do not see anything — literally "I do not see nothing".) No conozco a nadie. (I do not know anybody.) No voy nunca. (I never go.) Spanish keeps the no even when nada, nadie or nunca is present.
No veo nada। (मुझे कुछ नहीं दिखता — शब्दश: "मैं कुछ नहीं देखता"।) No conozco a nadie। (मैं किसी को नहीं जानता।) No voy nunca। (मैं कभी नहीं जाता।) nada, nadie या nunca होने पर भी स्पैनिश no रखती है।
No tengo dinero. (I have no money.) Ella no come carne. (She does not eat meat.) No me gusta el frío. (I do not like the cold.) The no always comes before the whole verb phrase.
No tengo dinero। (मेरे पास पैसा नहीं है।) Ella no come carne। (वह मांस नहीं खाती।) No me gusta el frío। (मुझे ठंड पसंद नहीं।) no हमेशा पूरी क्रिया-अभिव्यक्ति से पहले आता है।
An English speaker writes No hago no or No yo tengo. Spanish needs only one no, placed before the verb: No tengo. Doubling it for emphasis the English way is wrong.
अंग्रेज़ी बोलने वाला *No hago no या *No yo tengo लिखता है। स्पैनिश में क्रिया से पहले केवल एक no चाहिए: No tengo। अंग्रेज़ी की तरह ज़ोर देने के लिए दोहराना गलत है।
The three words that go with no in Spanish are nada (nothing), nadie (nobody) and nunca (never). Keep the no in front and the sentence is correct every time.
स्पैनिश में no के साथ आने वाले तीन शब्द हैं nada (कुछ नहीं), nadie (कोई नहीं) और nunca (कभी नहीं)। no आगे रखें और वाक्य हर बार सही रहेगा।
